At New Thornber, we believe a truly relaxing stay starts with feeling comfortable, confident, and at ease in your surroundings.
Set in a peaceful rural location, the house and gardens offer space to slow down and enjoy the views, with thoughtful features to support guests with varying mobility needs.
Easy Arrival & Outdoor Living
From the moment you arrive, access is simple and mostly on one level. A gravelled parking area with a paved path running alongside, the path then leads through the front garden to the house making it easy to unload and settle in.
The gardens are designed for gentle enjoyment, with paths, front patio, rear terrace and open gravelled areas all on one level—perfect for morning coffee, fresh air, or a quiet evening under the stars. There is also a small patio and raised viewing spot in the front garden, accessed by a few steps, offering a lovely place to take in the surroundings.
Access Into the House
There is one step at each external door. A portable ramp can be provided at the front entrance with prior arrangement, offering additional support where needed. All external doors have a threshold.
Comfortable Ground Floor Living
For guests who prefer to avoid stairs, the ground floor provides everything needed for a relaxed and self-contained stay.
You’ll find:
• A comfortable, spacious living room
• A large, fully equipped kitchen
• One ground floor bedroom (Superking bed - can be made into two single beds upon request)
• A shower room with walk-in shower (with a small raised lip/tray), toilet, heated towel rail and sink
All of these are on one level, making this layout particularly well suited to elderly guests or those with more limited mobility.
Toilet support handrails can be provided on request. Please note there are no fixed grab rails in the shower.
Around the House
• All doorways are standard width (762mm approx.)
• One step down into the boot room
• Staircase to the first floor with a handrail
Upstairs, there are three further bedrooms (one ensuite) and a family bathroom.

• Ground floor: LVT flooring throughout, with a large rug in the living room
• Ground floor bedroom: carpeted
• Stairs: carpeted
• First floor bedrooms: carpeted
• First floor bathrooms (family bathroom and en-suite): bathroom-grade vinyl
Lighting
All rooms are well lit, with ceiling lighting throughout. Additional wall lights and bedside lamps are provided in the bedrooms and living areas to create a comfortable and flexible lighting environment.
